Description
Information about the drug
Pramipexole is a dopamine receptor agonist. The mechanism of action of the drug is to stimulate D2 receptors. The Pramipexole has a direct effect on the dopamine receptor D3, its affinity for the D3 receptor is seven times stronger than any existing dopamine agonist/ which leads to a decrease in dopamine deficiency in the nuclei of the extrapyramidal system and other parts of the brain and elimination of dopamine deficiency in the nerve endings. When dopamine levels rise in the body, prolactin levels fall. The main purpose of this drug is to treat Parkinson’s disease. Along with the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Pramipexole is used to treat tired legs syndrome. Also, the drug was effective in treating bipolar disorder, although it was not formally created for these purposes.
The drug is well absorbed in the intestine, so the drug is used orally. The bioavailability of the drug is more than 90%. The maximum concentration in the blood is observed within 2 hours after administration of the drug. Pramipexole binds poorly to plasma proteins but it accumulates in red blood cells. The drug penetrates the blood-brain barrier, the placental barrier and is excreted in breast milk. Pramipexole is not metabolized in the organism. The Pramipexole is excreted in the urine unchanged. The half-life of Pramipexole in young people is 8 hours, in the elderly this time is increased to 12 hours.
Applying
Pramipexole is used by athletes primarily to combat gynecomastia and to improve sexual function, which often decreases with certain anabolic steroids administration.
When prolactin and estrogen levels increase significantly, this can lead to gynecomastia (enlargement of the male breast). Not all men will have problems with an increase in prolactin while taking anabolic steroids, as this depends on the dosage and genetic predisposition. Elevated prolactin levels also have a negative effect on the sexual activity of men, mainly manifested in the inability to achieve and maintain an erection. The most famous steroid that leads to this condition is Nandrolone. Those who have problems with an erection often refuse to take Nandrolone, which is fully explained by its effect on potency. However, in most cases, low doses of Pramipexole can offset such problems. In fact, the right combination of steroid hormones in combination with Pramipexole can help achieve the peak of sexual activity.
The last positive effect of Pramipexole is manifested in an increase in the production of Growth Hormone (GH). Although the increase in production cannot be called significant, it is a sufficient basis for increasing growth hormone in serum levels approximately two hours after taking the medicine.
To reduce the prolactin level or for other purposes, the dosage should be applied in the amount of 0.5 mg per day for a week. Some athletes may need a large dosage, but most often it is recommended to start with low doses, so that the body adapts, and to avoid side effects. The dosage can be increased to 1 mg per day. It depends on the individual reaction of your body. The user should smoothly increase the dosage until the desired result is achieved. It isn’t recommended to cancel the drug, because in the case of cancellation the dose is reduced smoothly throughout the week.
For better selection of the dose, you should be tested for hormone levels.
For the uniform action throughout the day, the daily dosage is divided into three doses. The drug should be taken with a glass of water.
